America Celebrated National Homeownership Month

Every June, millions of Americans think about buying a home and living the American Dream. President George W. Bush has made helping more Americans become homeowners a national priority, and has declared the month of June "National Homeownership Month." This is the first time America has dedicated a full month to celebrating - and increasing opportunities - for homeownership.

The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is the nation's homeownership agency, and throughout National Homeownership Month they are joining with partners across the nation to focus attention on the benefits of owning your own home. HUD Secretary Mel Martinez is committed to helping everyone - especially first-time homebuyers and minority families - learn more about homeownership and how they, too, can live the American Dream.

Our FSS families should pursue homeownership as the cornerstone of their wealth building strategy!
