Kent State Tuscarawas Offers Public Free
Computer Access
The Community Training Center (CTC)is a community service
being offered at Kent State Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia.
This free community resource is a service where computers and
related communications technologies are available to people
who otherwise might have little opportunity to use or learn to
use them.
The CTC offers the opportunity to:
- Improve educational levels
- Gain job-related skills
- Build personal and community relationships
- Experiment with computers
- Get answers to questions
The main focus of the CTC is to provide public access to
computer technology with a chance for participants to learn
computer literacy and skills at their own pace and in the same
way as those who have computers in their homes do.
In addition, it is the aim of the CTC to support small
businesses, the backbone of our community’s economic
structure, with programming access and assistance in the labs.
Every effort has been made to make the computer labs
convenient to use for those with disabilities with the use of
adaptive software and hardware technology.
Computer Lab Open to Public
The computer lab is open and free for the public to use every
Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m.
Volunteers are on hand during these hours and are available to
assist you do the following:
- Explore the Internet
- E-mail friends and relatives
- Travel the world of tutorials
- Learn word processing
- Compose your resume
Located in Room 206 of the new Science & Advanced
Technology Center, the CTC is a place where people and
computer technology meet in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
