Direct Deposit Update
The past two months we have reported in the Owner Update about the move
to direct deposit of HAP checks. We have implemented direct deposit for those
owners who have completed the account authorization form effective with the September payment.
We have had positive comments from Owners regarding this change. One of the best
advantages is that the HAP payment is available to owners faster via ACH
electronic transfer.
Please see the reverse side of this issue of the Owner Update for a rundown of questions
and answers about the Direct Deposit system.
Special Note: We have received some questions
from program landlords who believed that the conversion to the Direct Deposit system
to receive your HAP payments was optional. This is NOT correct. This is mandatory
for all landlords who are participating in the program. We are allowing some time
for all of the banking information to come in to the TMHA office prior to TMHA
stopping the issuance of paper checks. For now, we will continue to issue paper
checks for the landlords who have not provided their banking information.
However, at some point in the near future TMHA will stop issuing paper checks
and require all landlords to provide the proper banking information in order to
receive their HAP checks electronically.
Owner Update Will Cease Printed Publication
Because of TMHA’s conversion to the Direct Deposit system, TMHA will no
longer be mailing HAP checks to participating owners. Since we will no longer
be sending checks, a decision has been made to cease the printed publication
of Owner Update very soon. However, we are planning to continue to produce
Owner Update each month. It will be available on the TMHA website at
www.tuscarawasmha.org.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
To attract attractive people, you must be attractive. To attract powerful people,
you must be powerful. To attract committed people, you must be committed. Instead
of going to work on them, you go to work on yourself. If you become, you can attract.
We can have more than we've got because we can become more than we are. The big
challenge is to become all that you have the possibility of becoming. You cannot
believe what it does to the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch
yourself to the limit.
Pity the man who inherits a million dollars and who isn't a millionaire. Here's what
would be pitiful: If your income grew and you didn't. The most important question
to ask on the job is not "What am I getting?" The most important question to ask on
the job is "What am I becoming?"
It is hard to keep that which has not been obtained through personal development.
After you become a millionaire, you can give all of your money away because what's
important is not the million dollars; what's important is the person you have become
in the process of becoming a millionaire.
Income seldom exceeds personal development. What you become directly influences what you get.
